Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, flexible, and punctual CDL Class A Oversize Truck

Driver/Operator to safely transport oversized loads, assist with manufactured home installation and construction support. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, and able to work in varying weather conditions while performing physically demanding tasks. This position combines commercial driving with hands-on construction and job-site support.

Key Responsibilities

Duties Include But Not Limited To:

Transportation & Safety

  • Transport oversized loads in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and documentation
  • Perform daily vehicle and load inspections:
    • Check fluid levels, safety equipment, tire pressure
    • Verifying proper functioning lights, brakes, wipers, turn signals
    • Ensuring mirrors are adjusted for optimal visibility
  • Perform minor maintenance as needed

Load Handling & Securement

  • Perform labor required to properly secure loads prior to transport
  • Hook up/unhook trailers; may include changing tires, axles or tongues on the load
  • Conduct load inspections and obtain customer signatures upon delivery
  • Complete daily mileage reports
  • Accurately complete job paperwork and report materials used and labor performed

Construction & Job Site Support

  • Assist with loading/unloading, leveling units, provide general labor support
  • Move utility trailers and prefabricated units on job sites
  • Operate skid steer and assist with job site preparation
  • Perform final-phase construction and installation of manufactured homes, including:
    • Plumbing, framing, roofing, painting, general construction tasks
  • Work collaboratively with construction and setup crews

Job Requirements

  • Must pass DOT drug test and breath alcohol screening
  • Valid CDL Class A license with current medical card
  • Minimum 2 years of oversize hauling experience required
  • Minimum age: 22 years old (insurance requirement)
  • Clean driving record (no DUI within the last 7 years)

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs; heavy lifting is required
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Able to work in all weather conditions, including inclement weather
  • Out-of-town and overnight travel may be required for long-distance hauls
    • Loads must be attended – all trucks are equipped with sleepers, therefore; some overnights do require sleeping in the truck

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the following:
    • Residential construction and/or plumbing
    • Commercial driving
